Well, without going into detail, i got some core ideas for a game lately and was wondering if i ever were to make a mod, if i should choose the Source engine.
This probably sounds stupid (so shut it, i already admitted it tongue.gif ), but can the Source engine handle 3rd person views with a reasonable nice effect?
I mean, chacecams in CS:S and such has been possible since earths dawn (or something similar), so it should be quite possible i guess........right? happy.gif (im not really into technicality's (or what its called)).

Yep,many people forget that's even a mod... a friend is burning it for me tomorrow HAHA!

"During that Persian Gulf War, I was sitting in my living room, naked, with a can of Budweiser and a three inch stake watching the war, live, on TV. I had a six foot erection with a giant cheese burger on the end of it. I ate so much meat during the war that by the time the war was over three weeks later, I was like, "No no no. We need to keep fighting. Make a couple of stops on our way home from the Persian Gulf. First stop! Vietnam! Surprise the fuck out of those people, huh?"" Denis Leary

Anyway I think 3rd person sucks...
3rd person is lacking control. I find it much easier/more controllable to play 1st person.
I played bloodlines and I liked it... but could I have used 1st person melee combat it would have saved me a lot of troubles.
That's just my opinion anyways...

This really depends on what type of game it is.

Im not in the progress of creating ideas for an FPS.
If anything at all, it will be an RPG/Adventure hybrid or summet in 3rd person.
Im not even sure if source is what ill be using if i ever concider actually doing this.

Old topic reviving is not a rule unless your comment is completely useless and non-contributive.

whats everyone else now thing about the revival of the third person genre, theres that other "cold sumtin" game i think which takes place on the boat.

to me, its great it seems as though all the silent hill and re type games are going to immersivve 3d with the same beautiful environments.

Ive not really seen this though with souce, I think cause its such a bitch to mod for
