nim·bus, n. pl. nim·bi (-B) or nim·bus·es
1) A cloudy radiance said to surround a classical deity when on earth.
2) A radiant light that appears usually in the form of a circle or halo about or over the head in the representation of a god, demigod, saint, or sacred person such as a king or an emperor.
3) A splendid atmosphere or aura, as of glamour, that surrounds a person or thing.
4) Also a Danish built motorcycle.

well, for basic modeling, cleaning up the models, unwrapping, i perfer maya. good thing about zbrush, is i can go in and sculpt million poly models like their nothing, no heavy system resource usage, its soooooo much faster. but its all kinda a sub d type scalable resolution, so you can adjust a slider and go back to your low res, so if i sculpt the high res pec out too far, that would normaly cause a problem in the normal map generation, the low poly version is also carried out to that extent, so however i modify the high poly, the low poly will still match up.
you can't completly go to zbrush, but its a great tool for generating the high poly. im working on a model at work 100% zbrush, kinda a reptillian creature.. dunno when ill get time to finish it.

im having a problem in maya tho with myy normal maps being symetrical on that model, its like some of the light is the same on each side, its not fully duynamic like it is in melody, but ill figure it out, just realized i generated it completly wrong, so that might be the prob biggrin.gif yes, i got it smile.gif

I added some extra shadows to it for suggestion, try to remember where the light is hitting the model, then accentuate the shadow on the other side wheere it should be with the burn tool. I also darkened in the areas that meet the background to give the image a variety in value and improve the overall contrast.
the light areas are good, i would focus only on the dark
