Umm... I'm supposed to say unban Shamrock... I don't really remember the HL2C crew too well ever since I was 'let go,' but Shamrock seemed like a neat guy, as I remember... so unban, if he's banned, I guess.

What happened to the policy against posting news from mods that used the beta?

pendragon might be being slightly sarcastic. At least their being original by ripping off a giant media franchise. Wonder how long before MGM studios releases their lawyers...

How about they never release their lawers on account that the Stargate Sgc's team leader and PR guy have both spoken to MGM about the mod and there fine with it. So before you shoot your mouth off perhaps you should get the facts straight first.

As for Pendragons sarcastic dig, i'd just remind him that comments like that can get him in a lot of trouble with PB, even if you express your opinion on the forum, your still representing HL2Central in anything you say, especially regarding a hosted mod.

As for the actual news post on their site regarding the photoskin comment etc, I believe that was directed towards Stargate TC who used photoskins on some of their models.

Regarding Starwars mods, for example Galactic Conquest, their are certain consetions they have to make, ie not using the word "Starwars" in the title of their mod, Although I beleive they contacted Lucas Arts, or they contacted them, either way they are allowed to continue to work on their mod.

So unless you know the facts you shouldn't acuse mods of making their mod illegaly when that just isn't the case. If they are then it's up to MGM or Lucas Arts to make up their mind on any legal action they will take.

You're probably right. However, given that I didn't say anything directly, just reported the facts in such a way as to leave people prone to inferring that I disliked the mod. I'll refrain from such things in the future.

Yes, I basically was doing just that--I'm not exactly impressed by this release, but I can't directly say so in a news post. Instead, I just put the pieces there for clever folks like you to uncover.

To me, it's a 12-hour posting suspension and a 10% warning. Watch yourself.
