So it begins...

Sen. David Vitter, R-La apoligizes for fucking whores. Of course he mentions god about 15 times in the press release. No word on what "rehab" he'll be attending.Or if he hired men or women.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19685977/

So far Republicans 1, Democrats 0. Popcorn, check.

Hey, this is the USA: he doesn't need rehab unless he calls someone a n*gger or a f*ggot, or parties with Britney, Lindsay, or Paris, etc. When Fox News (what an oxymoron!) spins this I wouldn't put it past them to call Vitter a Democrat - their ignorant/retarded/brainwashed viewers would believe it, since Fox is their only 'news' source; besides, Vitter says God forgives him, so...(wait, how does he know that????).

user posted image

Gotta wonder why this non-news shit is breaking now, since Vitter was already outed in 2004 for frequenting prostitutes. http://www.politicsl...nside_track.htm
Vitter put out today's press release on his own. It's possible he's falling on a grenade (courtesy of Bush & Co.) to distract the public from the Iraq progress report coming out this week; it concludes that the U.S.-backed government in Baghdad has not met any of its goals for political, economic and other reforms. This is what's REALLY big news, and could get our soldiers home ASAP.

Yeah Dad that would be a great tactic. Let's alienate the war hawks and the christians from voting for un 2008. Every week there is a scandal in the GOP.

Today it was discovered that Iraq met 0.0000% of their benchmarks. The news media was impeachment this and impeachment that all day, then this drops. Because boobies are always a better distaction than the real issues. It's the fucked up media in general.

I love Moore, but in this interview, although he was 100% right, he came across as a LOUD ANGRY FAT MAN!!! Handled CNN even better quietly in print afterwards, as he promised he would in the interview, rebutting each of Dr. Sanjay Guptah's "facts" one at a time, ending with:

CNN: "But no matter how much Moore fudged the facts, and he did fudge some facts…"
Moore: This is libel. There is not a single fact that is "fudged" in the film. No one has proven a single fact in the film wrong. We expect CNN to correct their mistakes on the air and to apologize to their viewers.

I meant to say they are going to turn off the religious right and the war hawks, the only chance the republicans have to be relected.

Back on the D.C. Maddam & Vitter topic, today Vitter denied the prostitution allegations he earlier confessed to, and the press seems to buy it (of course, the main stream media is owned by powerful corporate neocon billionaires)
http://apnews.myway..../D8QE48OO0.html

So I go back to the (then) working link I posted here back on July 10 to a news article covering Vitter's confessing to the prostitution allegations...and the article has mysteriously vanished in the past 7 days (even though it's been up since 2004!!!!)
See (nothing) for yourself
http://www.politicsl...nside_track.htm

Fine, I'll just post an even more damning link than before. Here's shit about Vitter's brothel sexcapades in his home state Louisiana going as far back as the 1990's. Read it before someone expunges it too:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19685977/

Somewhere in this hypocrite Vitter's stinkin' thinkin' it probably goes something like, "Oh yeah, I already confessed about that old shit I did in New Orleans, but I'm not confessing to anything NEW I mighta' done in D.C."

New Orleans is pretty tolerant on this stuff, 'Hell, if y'all sez yer wife and God hisself ain't got no quarrel with y'all, then why should we? Ed, where's m' beer?"

FROM LANCANSTER ONLINE: http://ap.lancastero...itter_louisiana
**Others drew comparisons with former President Clinton and White House intern Monica Lewinsky, whose involvement in the 1990s led to Clinton's impeachment, in commenting on Vitter's actions.

**"I'm glad he went to a professional instead of an intern," said Ed Buchanan, a 63-year-old recorder of mortgages and a registered Democrat.

**Louisiana's tolerance of life on the edge, an attitude Vitter railed against as a family issues conservative, could work in his favor. He doesn't face re-election until 2010.

**"The only way it could become an issue is if his opponent was a Pentecostal preacher. I say that tongue in cheek," said Joe McKeever, director of missions for the Baptist Association of Greater New Orleans.

**"Do you remember that quote about (former Louisiana Gov.) Edwin Edwards: 'The only way I'd lose is if they catch me in bed with a live boy or a dead girl,'" McKeever asked. "Our expectations are abysmally low."

**Edwards is serving time at a federal prison in Louisiana in connection with a
gambling scandal.

Side note. Far from forgiving Vitter (as he says his wife Wendy has - God too he says) when Wendy was asked by an interviewer in 2000 whether she could forgive her husband if she learned he'd had an extramarital affair, as Hillary Clinton and Bob Livingston's wife had forgiven, Wendy Vitter told the Times-Picayune: "I'm a lot more like Lorena Bobbitt than Hillary. If he does something like that, I'm walking away with one thing, and it's not alimony, trust me." Threat made in 2000 --- been 7 years & nuthin' happenin' girl, c'mon - lop that fucker clean off and walk away with that itty bitty thang!!!"

It's matters because of the hypocrisy. This asshole is pushing family values, and his religious views on us. All the while not practicing what he preaches. If you make the choice to be in the public eye, you deserve whatever you get. Can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Normally, banging a hooker or something would be no big deal. But the republicans are supposed to be the party of family values and religious morality. If they don't have that then what are they? Hypocrits.

They went after Bill Clinton because he had a legal affair with an intern. This asshole broke the law. And didn't have one affair, had many. He was getting calls from this escort service on the house floor during roll call and during votes, on our dime. This is a big deal.

i wouldnt sweat it. the only way the american people could ever go all nazi family values is if we had a direct democracy. fortunately, in the current system, the representatives we elect are all too corrupt to actually support legal enforcement of family values.

You don't think they support legal enforcement of family values? WTF? The Bush neocon Republican fundie right-wing Christian evangelicals have been seriously messing with the legal system for some time now, from local govt., to states (think Kansas), up to the Supreme Court, abortion laws, laws against gay & lesbian marriage and civil unions, obscenity laws, to mention just a few. They've made enforceable laws that are being enforced! These hypocrites (Vitter for example) get elected by campaigning for family values & the 'sanctity of marriage' and then go about legislating morality for everyone but themselves. The Republican Party: "we are the party of hypocrites. Vote for us, and we'll lie to you, we'll engage prostitutes (which is illegal by the way), and we'll cheat on our wives."
