Last one needs a longer comet tail, other than that it's good.. missing a certain "oomph"

i think they are incredibly awesome, but i agree with the scourge of the seas, that comet needs a much longer tail. it should probably extend off the page for it to be accurate.

unless its not a comet....
comets are ice and dust. Not only would it probably not cause damage like that, the direction of the tail is dependent on where the star is.

BTW, I really like #2

i have already seen those tutorials, they are pretty good, also that commet picture i used one of greg martins pics for a refrence with the commet
http://gallery.artof.../cataclysm2.jpg the planet picture is kind of old and has a few problems like the starfield is too dence and the top of the planet and its edge are kind of messed up.
