I've been mapping for about a month now, and it's pretty easy to get the hang of. Here's a link to get you started. wink.gif
I know it's a CS-based website (cs=eww) but it helps you grasp the basic concepts and necessities. Have fun.

Oh, by the way - NEVER use the carve too (where you push an object into another to carve out an area the size of that smaller object) because it leaves a lot of unnecessary polygons/detail. In other words: r_speeds=up your ass. That is all. wink.gif

There are more tutorials on the left menu of the site I gave you, as well. They continue where that one left off.

Hey there, I am new on this site, and I registered just now to help you guys out smile.gif
I have been mapping for Half-Life since 1999, and I have to say it is really easy, once you get the hang of it.
Although I have written some tutorials, you guys should go here, 69th Vlatitude
the writers there are awesome, and that is where I first learned to map biggrin.gif

anyhoo, I have to get back to modelling for my HL2 mod, Point of Impact.
c ja cool.gif
