here im putting my models im currently working on, get some feedback as i go.
here is my first. I made this demon a whole back, from my "create your own demon" contest at fps central, the firs place prize was a year subscription, which was useless to me till i got broadband, now im glad i entered.
This is the demon. not for sure where he's gonna go, which engine, maybe make a mod, dunno. gonna normal map and animate him, let mappers freely use him whereever, i don't care, but he's pretty damn mean.

here is a lil WIP of a wolf im working onuser posted image

here is the plan im hoping to take. model the high poly for normal mapping, the usual routine. But i also want to use paint effects or fur to generate every single hair on the body, and model it straight to the body, as you would see in a CG film.
then, to convert the fur to polygons, and make it a normal map. I'm hopping this will make it a very realistic game wolf, we'll know in a couple weeks, ill keep updates in here.

its zbrush, it allows you to completly be free of resource restriction, but it is limited by your imagination and skill only. google will help ya find out some tutorials, and the killer thing about zbrush is when your making things, yu can record everything you do as a zscript. you can then play this zscript in any zbrush ap, and it will show the step by step creation process, so finding out how to use it is simple, as long as you can find the right stuff.
i also got a collection of video tuts, get on msn one night ,ill send ya some.

best skill you can know for zbrush though is drawing. all the modelling skills you've gained from other applications are almost irrelevant, because zbrush is 100 times more intuitive then any modelling ap, so if you want to make some awsome characters, draw them. the best your gonna get is the best you can draw.

How long would a render of the 2.5 mil poly one take? blink.gif

Those look amazing, by the way... I can't imagine that even CG characters are that detailed.
